Dr. Barrett has experience working in a variety of clinical settings, from the Behavioral Unit at Sharp Grossmont Hospital to Kearny Mesa Juvenile Detention Facility. He has treated diverse populations from high school students and traumatized youth in underserved communities to newly arrived refugees.
Dr. Barrett uses CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. His approach to each individual focuses on developing coping skills and utilizing the science of resiliency. Finding purpose and meaning in life is incorporated into each individual treatment plan.
